A World Of Diseases

In a world filled with diseases, it is very easy to catch one. I was walking outside of a clothing store the other day and I saw a used syringe in the parking lot. It was just lying there waiting for someone to step on the rusty needle. This store was not in a bad part of town. Still, disease ridden objects exist just about everywhere, and they aren't always as easily recognized as an old syringe.

Most grocery stores will provide you with cleaning wipes to use on the handle of your shopping cart. Many people will just ignore the wipes, and go about their usually shopping. These people might benefit from hearing that a study was done comparing toilet seats in public restrooms to handles on shopping carts. The toilet seats were actually cleaner than the handles. Think about that the next time you pass one of those sanitation wipes. Now, statistics like these have lead to some people being overly worried about their surroundings. You will occasionally see the paranoid person piling antibacterial cleanser on their hands every five minutes. This might be going a little too far.

So, we have to find a happy median between the two. I would suggest just keeping an eye out for probable places where there might be diseases festering. When you see one of these danger zones, you should steer clear of them, or like in the case of the shopping cart, you should clean them up before use. Now, what if you are the source of the disease? Sometimes you catch an illness, but you feel like you are too busy to stay home from work. You decide to spread your germs rather than take a day off. This is incredibly selfish, but understandable. You could easily blame your boss for forcing you to make this decision. You are given so much work, that even though you have sick days, you just don't have time to do everything.

Still, it is important that people realize that when they choose to subject other people to their diseases, they are making a conscious choice to infect them with misery. It's different than going up and punching someone in the face, but it's not that different. When you realize that you have the power to help yourself and others stay clear of diseases, you will start living you life with greater protection. As I said earlier, this should lot lead you to be over overcautious. You will need to walk the fine line between being self-aware, or being a neurotic nut. It's your choice.

I hope that this guide has helped you see how diseases can affect your life. They are everywhere. One of the things I did not touch too much on is how you can prevent diseases by strengthening your immune system. There are a number of ways to do this, and we won't go into them here. It will be helpful to know that you can make yourself stronger against diseases. Still, you should still try to stay away from them.
